Exploring Global Connections in Solid Earth Science: Take Part in Our New Survey

How are research infrastructures around the world working together to understand our planet? EPOS, in partnership with AuScope (Australia), Earth Sciences NZ, and EarthScope (United States), is launching a new survey to uncover the networks of collaboration that link the global solid Earth science community. From seismology and volcanology to geochemistry and geodesy, this initiative seeks to map how scientists across continents are sharing data, expertise, and innovation.

By taking part, organisations can help paint a clearer picture of where and how international cooperation is already happening — and where new opportunities might lie. The survey explores themes ranging from data interoperability and modelling to training, governance, and emerging technologies like AI. Insights from the responses will help EPOS and its partners identify common priorities, strengthen coordination, and support the growth of truly global research efforts.

Participation takes only 10–15 minutes, and responses will be used for joint planning across infrastructures. If your team is involved in — or planning — international collaborations in the Earth sciences, we invite you to share your experience and help shape the future of global cooperation.
