EPOS is proud to launch the EPOS GO! Prize, an initiative dedicated to Early Career Scientists working with inter- and transdisciplinary data who plan to attend the EGU General Assembly 2026 (EGU26).
With this Prize, EPOS aims to recognise scientific excellence and to support outstanding early‑career research addressing complex Earth system challenges through cross‑disciplinary approaches.
Participation in the Prize is free of charge. The Prize recognises scientific merit, and the monetary contribution may be used freely by the winners. EPOS will award up to three (3) prizes of €2,000 (two thousand/00) each. The Prize constitutes a promise of reward and does not remunerate any service, activity, or obligation to EPOS.
Please carefully read the Prize Regulations below before applying.
Prize Regulation
I. Who can apply?
You can take part in the EPOS GO! Prize if you:

- work with inter‑, cross‑ or transdisciplinary data;
- plan to attend EGU26 in person;
- submit an abstract to one of the ITS1 – Digital Geosciences sessions on topics focused on solid earth science.
II. How does it work?
Submit your abstract to one of the ITS1 – Digital Geosciences sessions (make sure you use the key word “solid Earth”) in line with EGU26 rules and deadlines. We recommend to consider submitting to ITS 1.21, co-rganised by EPOS and its international partners, focussed on Inter- and Transdisciplinary Studies of the Geosphere: experiences, challenges and new perspectives worldwide, but any ITS1 is OK.
Send the receipt of the abstract submission, your CV and your ID or passport to: communication@epos-eric.eu no later than 30/03/ 2026
III. Evaluation Process and Award
EPOS will establish a panel of experts to evaluate abstracts, which, at its sole discretion, will determine:
relevance to the session themes
quality of the work
clarity and completeness of the abstract.
Bonus consideration may be given to abstracts making use of the EPOS Platform. Applicants will be informed of the outcome in due course via a formal communication.
Winners are expected to present their work in person at EGU26.

Participation implies full acceptance of this Regulation. EPOS reserves the right to amend the Regulation without altering the nature of the Prize. The Prize qualifies as “other income” pursuant to Article 67(1)(d) of the Italian Income Tax Code. Where applicable, EPOS applies a 25% withholding tax on top of the prize pursuant to Article 30 of Presidential Decree No. 600/1973.
