The MED-SUV project developed and implemented a state-of-the-art infrastructure for the volcanic risk management life-cycle, from the observation to people preparedness, in southern Italy relying upon the improvements of the understanding of geophysical processes underlying the volcanic systems of Vesuvius / Campi Flegrei and Mt. Etna. The infrastructure integrates existing components, such as monitoring systems and data bases, novel sensors for the measurements of volcanic parameters, and tools for data analysis and process modelling.
The Web-based MED-SUV Web Portal is designed to hide the complexity of the technologies involved, keeping the usability in mind. It allows users discovering and downloading space and in-situ data concerning the two Italian Supersites : Vesuvius/Campi Flegrei and Mt. Etna.
