The Spanish network, led by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), will establish a Spanish Consortium to contribute to this ESFRI infrastructure. The objective of the EPOS Spain network is to strengthen Spain's role and importance in developing and implementing EPOS.

The initiative will be presented on Wednesday, May 17th, at the Real Observatorio de Madrid of the National Geographic Institute (IGN), with the involvement of up to 25 institutions, including CSIC, IGN, Ebro Observatory, University of Alicante, University of Salamanca, University of Granada (UGR), Universitat de Barcelona (UB), Technical University of Madrid (UPM), Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), and Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).

Adelina Geyer and Ramon Carbonell, researchers from Geosciences Barcelona (GEO3BCN-CSIC), are the coordinators of the Spanish EPOS network.
