The Consortium for Geomagnetic Observations is aimed at integrating existing and newly developed services and models into EPOS  and taking thus advatage from all EPOS Central services.

Enhance existing services providing geomagnetic data (INTERMAGNET- INTErnational Real-time MAGnetic observatory NETwork; World Data Centre for Geomagnetism; IMAGE- International Monitor for Auroral Geomagnetic Effects) and existing services providing geomagnetic indices and geomagnetic events (ISGI - International Service of Geomagnetic Indices).

Develop and build access to magnetotelluric (MT) data, products and services including transfer functions (TFs) and time series (TSs) data from temporary, portable MT-arrays in Europe, and lithospheric conductivity models derived from TM-data.

Develop common web and database access points to global and regional geomagnetic field and conductivity models, for example the International Geomagnetic Reference Field, World Magnetic Model and World Magnetic Anomaly Model.

Establish links from the data services, products and models in geomagnetism to the EPOS Integrated Core Services. What this means in practice is that data from geomagnetic data providers should be easy to integrate with data from other EPOS science domains.

Improve communication with the European geomagnetism community and stakeholders.
