The European Seismological Commission (ESC) General Assembly 2018 is approaching fast. Around 800 scientists from all niches of seismology and from all over Europe and the world will gather in Valletta, Malta, from 2 to 7 September.

EPOS, and in particular EPOS Seismology, is heavily involved. We chair session S02 “Seismological e-infrastructures and their data and products services” (scheduled for Monday p.m.), and participate with various contributions to a number of other sessions.

Organized by the EPOS headquarter, an EPOS booth will be set up as a meeting and information point for all conference participants who want to know more about EPOS. Following the successful “EGU model”, a number of presentations will be scheduled at the booth on various EPOS services and activities.

We also will organize a series of “hands-on” sessions between Tuesday and Thursday to provide a live experience how to use the already operational EPOS Seismology services. These sessions will be approximately one hour each, with capacity for up to 20 participants at a time. A detailed schedule of times and topics will be available on the EPOS website shortly before the meeting, and at the EPOS booth during the conference.

On Monday, 2 September, after the poster session, EPOS Seismology will host an “information meeting” open to all conference participants, followed by an EFEHR coordination meeting targeted towards the further development of the EFEHR consortium. More details will be announced during the next weeks.
