The Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU and the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) will host, from 6 to 8 December 2021, the ESFRI Days, an event scheduled to take place at the Grand Hotel Union, Ljubljana, Slovenia.

ESFRI Days will feature two major events, complemented by the 78th ESFRI plenary meeting (for ESFRI National Delegates only, 6-7 December):

1. ESFRI Roadmap 2021 Launch, 7 December 2021

On December 7th, 2021, ESFRI will present the 2021 ESFRI Roadmap on Large Scale Research Infrastructures during a half-day conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The Slovenian Minister of Education, Science and Sport, Dr. Simona Kustec and Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Ms. Mariya Gabriel, will deliver opening addresses at the event.

The ESFRI Roadmap 2021 will include 11 new Research Infrastructure Projects and report on the development of research infrastructures under the existing Roadmap. The ESFRI Roadmap 2021 presents in detail the most outstanding European science facilities, determined by a thorough evaluation and selection procedure. It also describes the broader landscape of research in Europe, which is an important component of the ESFRI methodology.

A detailed agenda for the ESFRI Roadmap 2021 Launch Event will be published soon. Register here by November 12, 2021.

2. 1st ESFRI Stakeholders Forum Meetup, 8 December 2021

The 1st ESFRI Stakeholders Forum Meetup will take place on December 8th, 2021, in Ljubljana, Slovenia, as a hybrid event.

The ESFRI Stakeholders Forum is a newly established platform, developed by ESFRI with the ambition to instigate an open dialogue among the different European research infrastructure stakeholders, in order to reinforce the position of Research Infrastructures (RIs) as an essential pillar of the European Research Area (ERA). This concept was presented in the ESFRI White Paper adopted in 2020.

The Stakeholders Forum initiative reflects ESFRI’s intention to look beyond the traditional RI communities. The platform aims to attract stakeholders, raising their awareness across the whole research and innovation ecosystem. Detailed information about how the platform will work and how stakeholders can participate in discussions will be available in due course.

The event is open to prospective stakeholders. Register here by November 12, 2021
